Stephen Gadd combines expertise in software development and Geographic Information Systems with a deep interest in early modern history. He is currently the Technical Director for the World Historical Gazetteer and a Research Associate at the University of London. His technical skills include extend to the programming of browser tools and web applications, and the management of web servers. He holds a PhD in the history of river navigation and has worked on projects at the British Library and the University of Cambridge, focusing on geospatial historical data. His publications include articles on economic and legal history, and a wide variety of geospatial datasets.
