Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2026 Interns

In the Fall 2026 semester, ISHI will host its inaugural internship: The Interconnected Places Lab Internship. This three-credit undergraduate internship supports student research by training interns to investigate historical places and trace their connections across local, regional, and global networks. Interns complete a semester-long research project that begins with an in-depth study of a single place and expands outward to examine its links to migration, labor, infrastructure, memory, ecology, and contested boundaries. No prior experience with historical research or digital methods is required.

During the internship, students will develop:

  • Historical research and digital storytelling skills, culminating in a published project
  • Experience in digital humanities methods using GitHub, QGIS, Leaflet, and Java
  • Skills in spatial analysis and digital mapping

Undergraduate students interested in the Fall 2026 internship should complete the following application form: https://forms.gle/kvp7wC 3M1kTL9cwB6. Applicants will be asked to propose a place of study and briefly explain their reason for selecting that place.

Apply by April 7, 2026 for guaranteed review of your application!
