In collaboration with the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies and the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia, ISHI hosted two workshops for educators in the Fall 2025 semester about using the World Historical Gazetteer (whgazetteer.org) to teach about Central Asia. Drawing on the recently published Historical Gazetteer of Central Asia, the workshop explored the complexities of defining the region and offered practical approaches for classroom engagement. After the workshop, educators completed lesson plans focused on Central Asia using the World Historical Gazetteer. The following have been published on the WHG's Teaching Section:
